Anybody interested in a drive to Hells Gate and maybe stopping off at Harrison Hotsprings on the way back?  I have a superpass for Hells Gate so anybody in my party gets in free.

Let me know soon so I can organize a route that might be interesting.  At this time, I am free any Saturday in September.  However, I would avoid the Labour Day long weekend as traffic will to crazy.

Thanks Beken. I appreciate the support.

How about either September 12 or 19? That way we can sneak in another event at the end of September if I can get it arranged. I'm thinking a "garage" tour of Nu-Brite Industries to check out their new wheel repair facilities.

We could do Harrison for lunch as the first stop and then those that want to continue to Hell's Gate can do so after lunch and those that want to head home can. I'm up for the whole trip. Just trying to think of ways to increase the turnout.

I like your idea Beken, of two meeting locations, one on either side of the river.

Thanks.

Or late Sept how about a 50 year celebration run?

Actually, the first mini went on sale on August 26 1959.

I can set up a drive either September 12 or 26.   It would great if we can get 50 MINIs/minis out but I won't hold my breath.

I will be mapping out a route that takes highway 7 (Lougheed Hwy) to the Fraser Canyon, then to Hellsgate and returning via Highway 1 to Harrison Hotsprings.  Then back to Highway 1 and dispersing as people pass by their turn offs to go home.  Those living in Pitt Meadows, Mission, etc, might be interested in crossing the river at Mission or pay a toll at the Golden Ears bridge or cross at the Port Mann bridge.

I would like to see more than 5 cars come out for this, but I understand students have to settle in to their schools and Saturdays are not a great day for a drive for many members of our club.

Either date in Sept should work for me.  The 12th is a might tougher to bring the wife and daughter since that is the first week for school.  I need a service soon and that would work out well.
Would be cool to get 50 MINI's together.  I was hoping to go to Calgary for their get together for the 50th but I am stuck in the middle of nowhere currently.  When I get out of here I will want to go for a drive.

I'm going to be out of town next week so I better lay down some plans here.

I have pencilled in September 12 for a drive to HellsGate and a stop at Harrison Hotsprings on the way back.  I think a photo op amongst the sand castles (if there are any) would be fun.  This will be an almost all day drive.   Hopefully, everybody should be home by around dinner time so as not to interfere with your family bbq schedules.

I plan to leave Scottsdale Mall around 9:00am, possibly make Coquitlam Centre around 10:00am with other meetup spots along the way.   If others want to join in the run somewhere along the route, post a message.    We will take Hwy 7 (Lougheed highway) to the Fraser Canyon.  Return via Hope and then highway 1.  The drive will officially end when we return to highway 1 from Harrison Hotsprings.   That means if you live in Chilliwack or Abotsford or Mission, you can drop out of the drive anywhere along the route home.   More details will follow when I return from Alberta.

1 major caveat about this drive:

So far, only 2 people have expressed interest in joining this drive.  If there are only 3 MINIs going on this, there is not a whole lot of sense in calling this a club drive.   If those two MINIs still want to go, we will take this discussion off the forum and work it out offline.
